Class Descriptions

  • Tiny Dancer (1.5 - 3.5 yrs old)

     Where the Magic Begins...  a joyful blend of ballet and acro designed to spark a lifelong love for movement and music.  


     Through storytelling and imaginative play, our little ones build age-appropriate gross and fine motor skills in a nurturing, creative environment.  



      Tiny Dancer 1 (Ages 1.5 – 2.5)      

    For dancers who prefer having a parent or caregiver participate alongside them.


       Tiny Dancer 2 (Ages 2.5 – 3.5)      

    For dancers beginning to dance independently, without a parent in the room.


      Tiny Dancer 3 (must be 3 by first class)    

    For dancers who are ready to build strong ballet and dance foundations, focusing on foot articulation, weight transfer, and flexing and pointing, while continue to devolp acro skills.



      Session Info    

    • Classes are held in 8-week sessions: two in fall, two in spring, and one in summer.
    • Fall A: Aug 16 - Oct 8 
    • Fall B: Oct 11 - Dec 10 
    • Fall Tiny Dancer Performance TBA

      Performance

    • Tiny Dancers do not participate in stage productions, but we host two in-studio performance events each year where dancers can share what they’ve learned with family and friends!

      Tuition & Policies    

    • $208 per 8-week session
    • Payment is due at time of booking.
    • We do not offer trial classes for tiny dancers. However, if the class is not a good fit for your child to continue after the first 3 weeks, you may receive a prorated credit toward future children's or adult classes.

     Uniform Requirements:  

    • NOVA leotard
    • TD 1-2: No tights, socks, or shoes
    • TD 3: tights and ballet shoes

     Tiny Dancer Performance 

     

    Families gather for an in-studio performance from our Tiny Dancers.  Take-home tutus, bears, party favors, and a guest performance from our company dancers makes this a magical event for the whole family!

  • Pre-Primary Ballet/Acro (3.5yrs old - VPK)

     Rooted in the American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum, our Ballet/Acro classes combine classical ballet technique with acrobatic strength-building and imaginative play. These classes nurture both physical coordination and creative expression in a structured, joyful setting.

     Pre-Primary Ballet/Acro     

    (Must be 3.5 years old by class start date)        

    Ideal for 4 yrs olds and VPK dancers ready to learn the foundations and magic of ballet paired with fan-favorite acro skills!  This class is more advanced than Tiny Dancer 3 and will perform on the big stage!  **Read through the perform web page to view extra rehearsals!


      

     Uniform Requirements:  

    • NOVA PP leotard
    • So danca ballet tights
    • So danca elastic ballet shoes  
    • Hair: Neatly secured in a bun.
    • No jewelry or accessories
  • Primary 1 Ballet/Acro/Tap (Kinder - 1st)

     A fusion of American Ballet Theatre® ballet training and Acro Arts technique, designed to help young dancers develop strength, coordination, and control of large muscle movements. Classes emphasize storytelling, rhythm, and imaginative expression—laying the foundation for confident, creative movers.    

    • Primary 1 introduces foundational Acro movements and imaginative Ballet play, while introducing Tap.

     

      Uniform Requirements:

    • So Danca ballet tights 
    • So Danca elastic ballet shoes
    • Hair: Neatly styled in a bun
    • Tan tap shoes required
    • No jewelry or accessories

  • Primary 2 Ballet/Acro/Tap (advanced 1st - 3rd)

      Primary 2    


    The final level of our Children’s Academy continues the fusion of ABT ballet technique and Acro Arts foundations, with a growing emphasis on musicality, control, and refined coordination. Students attend  one class per week, are introduced to the ballet barre mid-semester, and continue developing their tap skills.    


    This level nurtures developing dancers as they build confidence, consistency, and deeper body awareness—all while continuing to explore the joy of movement and storytelling. Primary 2 focuses on preparing students to enter NOVA's student academy.

Breakdancing

  • Mini Breakers (VPK-K)

    A high-energy fusion of acrobatics, hip hop, and breakdancing, this class is a favorite among our young boys! Designed to build confidence, coordination, strength, and musicality, the class also promotes body awareness—a key factor in reducing injuries in sports—and encourages team spirit and camaraderie.  


    *must be 4 by Sep1st and going into VPK


      Uniform Requirements    

    • Black sweatpants
    • NOVA breakdancing shirt
    • Padded beanie for headstand work (amazon)
    • Converse or Vans style shoes (flat bottom) that will be dedicated for studio use, any brand and all white 

    Leather and high ankle recommended.


    Do not wear shoes outside or on the street.


    Shoes will be stored at the studio.

  • Primary Breaking (1st-2nd) *New level!

    This high-energy class combines acrobatics, hip hop, and breakdancing in a way that keeps older boys engaged, challenged, and excited to move. Dancers build confidence, strength, coordination, musicality, and body awareness—a key factor in preventing injury in sports—all while forming friendships and a strong sense of camaraderie.


    Must be going into 1st or 2nd grade


    Uniform Requirements  

    • Black sweatpants
    • NOVA breakdancing shirt
    • Padded beanie for headstand work (amazon)
    • Optional - Knee pads (amazon)
    • Converse or Vans style shoes (flat bottom) that will be dedicated for studio use, any brand and all white

  • Level 1 Breaking (3rd grade+)

    This high-energy class combines acrobatics, hip hop, and breakdancing in a way that keeps older boys engaged, challenged, and excited to move. Dancers build confidence, strength, coordination, musicality, and body awareness—a key factor in preventing injury in sports—all while forming friendships and a strong sense of camaraderie.

    For dancers ready to push their skills further in a dynamic fusion of acrobatics, hip hop, and breakdancing. Perfect for boys who love to move and are ready for more challenge, this class builds on core techniques while emphasizing strength, control, musicality, and injury-preventing coordination. Teamwork and confidence are at the heart of every session.

  • Drop-In Freestyling

    Join us one Wednesday of each month from 6:30 - 7:15 for anyone breakers that want to hone their improv.  The class is $12 drop-in per student and you can sign up in the momence app! Invite your friends, you don't have to be a current Bboy to come and participate!

Semester Breakdown (NEW!)

Our Fall semester is broken into two sessions. 

  • Fall A is 8 weeks of skill building with a Presentation Week at the end for students and parents to celebrate their newly mastered skills. 
  • Fall B is 6 weeks of Choreography, extra rehearsals and participation in a Production on Nov 20th (take-home costume included)!
  • NOTE: Both Tiny Dancer sessions are focused on skill building


Guidelines

  • Students and parents will have until Oct 1 to confirm their participation in Fall B.
  • Students cannot miss any classes during Fall B except for emergency/illness.
  • Students cannot take Fall B if they were not enrolled in Fall A and had good attendance.
  • NOTE: Tiny Dancers can attend either session to sign up for their in-studio show.
